Figure - Make Music & Beats App Reviews

Figure is an enormously entertaining, and surprisingly deep app. Users can create tracks in minutes. Dive under the hood a bit, and youll find capabilities for tweaking parameters such as filters, delay, etc. (with automation too!). I agree, the new Alihoopa banner is annoying. However, I trust (hope?) that this is temporary as a way for Propellerheads to announce the new sharing feature. If this was hidden under the Settings at launch, many people would never have seen it. It is obtrusive, but not so much as to stop the enjoyment of this app. One- and two-star ratings for this app are misguided and petty.

Ive really enjoyed using this app and like a few others mentioned - this update was an opportunity to make some key things right, but instead treated even more like a toy and quickly becoming just a toy. Maybe by design so Figure doesnt start cutting into Reason sales perhaps? Totally second the motion to create a paid version of Figure. What I really hoped to see: - Sync songs across devices. Not upload as hidden from one then downloaded on the other. I mean real automatic sync, the way the cloud should work. - More bars. This is huge. HUGE. No one is ever going to create anything serious with a limit of 40 seconds. Imagine how much more Take could do if Figure could provide an actual normal length song. Sigh. That banner.

Loved the app, originally purchased it when it came out.... Now theyre are ads? Really thanks for ruining my experience..... Id love for that to change.....

Great app, but this new update is NO GOOD. Allihoopa (forced) integration is terrible and having a amber take up screen real-estate is a super bummer. Back down to 1 star from 5 stars until its optional. Old review: such a great music app. great quality and easy to use. sounds are AMAZING TOO.

Just read the other 1 and 2-star reviews... I normally give detailed feedback, and I did for this app once, but my review seems to have been deleted. Why put out the effort again?

Still no song sequencer, still cant turn off the metronome, still no way to effectively browse I instruments. Propeller head, drop alihooopa stuff, add those features, and folks will gladly pay money. Add user imported samples and youve got next gen mobile daw on your hands. One that trumps all others in ease of use. And you better do this quickly. Korg ikaossilator 2 will come at some point. Best to get out ahead of it.

Please remove the alihoopa top bar. It interferes with the music making, gets in the way, and has totally ruined your app to me. Until then I will not use or ever recommend Figure to anyone again.

I like the Allihoopa function. A few upgrades ago I lost all my songs, but now that wont happen. (You can upload a song to Soundcloud, but you cant use them in that format). Allihoopa also lets other people listen to, and even remix your tracks. I would like to see some more music creation functionality in the app, but Im happy to see that Propeller is still supporting this and trying to keep it relevant in the age of social media. If you dont like the Allihoopa function, just dont use it. Its still a super fun app, even if all the songs start to sound the same after awhile. 9.5 out of ten - outstanding.

They should be embarrassed for taking so long. 3 years ago I was able to create custom sounds. They write the patches in LUA, which is a very easy to learn language. Creating new patches took me about 30 mins for Thor (yup the synth is Thor). Drums took about 10 mins, its a very simple drum sampler. I was discussing this on Twitter with some other Figure enthusiasts when Propellerheads sent me a cease and desist. The hypocrites had posted my Rebirth Mod packs that I made in the 90s (without proper credit BTW) as a part of a promotion but they sent me a C&D for discussing how to do the very same thing with Figure. They had a chance to be really innovative but of course failed. This is the same company who hasnt been able to move beyond Reason in 2 decades. Even Fruityloops outgrew them.

One word, Alihoopa. It changed Figure for the worst. Alihoopa integration makes you use their trash media centre instead of the perfect one Propellerhead had. You now have to use AudioCopy (which doesnt work properly) to upload beats to SoundCloud. The entire ecosystem of Figures connection with other apps has been ruined. Which ruined Figure also.

Five stars. Ignore the rest. Spend the dollar and decide for yourself. It would be nice if it was more tightly integrated with reason. Expanded volume controls, especially for drums would be amazing. Option to turn fade on audio exports off would also make for a better experience. I would pay for a pro version, or hope that the existing reason customer-base would receive Professional compatibility.

I love this app and have used it for years. I even bought reason so I could use it with this app. The ridiculous upload banner is completely unnecessary and makes me consider not using this app. Please fix. I will start using this app again after the update.

Love the app - have made some wonderful sketches in the past few months - but I NEED MIDI back to Reason! Help me take my sketches and turn them into works of art! Thanks for all the hard work and amazing product thus far.

Love what you can do with Figure in a short amount of time. Sounds fantastic. But for me to be truly useful, I need it to sync to my DAW. Ableton Link support feels like the right solution...

Very fun app! Figure has helped me to capture many of the ideas that I hear in my head, quickly. PropellerHead needs more tools like this.

Used to be my favorite app until you introduced a social network no one wishes to use and an ugly forced banner. Refund?

This is a great, intuitive app that I stumbled upon a few months ago and I still use it as frequently as I always have. I scrolled through the other app reviews because this apps average rating dropped heavily. I dont understand why people arent ok with a little banner at the top of the screen. I havent seen any ads in the app as far as I know and the Allihoopa banner is very less than a nuisance, so I cant really comprehend why people are so annoyed with the update.

All I can say is thank you. I personally love this app and make music I find worthy for others to hear. Doin it right.

This app is still great. The banner may bother people but it is not in the way of creating music. My only issue is they tucked away the export option into the browse section below each song instead of it being on the song page. You can still export to iTunes and sound cloud. I personally prefer to play it live into my daw so that I can change settings on the fly and have a good base for a song. All the sounds are great and it is still the easiest to use sketch tool on the planet.

App destroyed battery life with unapproved background activity. Banner is useless and tacky visual noise. Yeah, purchased to help market someone elses platform, this app has become junk. Waist bin.
